Just for you

Have you discovered Smooch Inks? They come in a rainbow of colours, and paint on like nail polish :) This card was the result of experimenting with Smooch Inks.

Purple cardstock base, pink card for layering.
White shimmer cardstock was embossed with a Craft Concepts Cherry Blossom folder, then one side punched with a scallop punch. Smooch inks were brushed onto the raised areas to highlight the 'picture'.
Embellished with a shimmery butterfly (Martha Stewart punch), and three pearls.
Smooch ink colours used - Shabby Pink, Sassy Pink, Kiwi

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day in Australia is on May 13. I'm lucky enough to have two lovely ladies to make cards for (as well as remembering my own Mum)! The second card was a colour variation of this one. I love the bright pink :)

Take bright spotty paper, punch with Martha Stewart Doily punch, ink all edges, and affix to white base card with double-sided tape.

Stamp frame and sentiment from Gina K. Designs/ Melanie Muenchinger's A Beautiful Life set onto bright pink cardstock. Stamp frame again onto pale pink cardstock, colour tulips with Copic markers, edge with Gold Spica pen, and cut out. Affix the flowers with glue under the stems, and foam tape under the flower heads. Dot Clear Spica pen within the oval border.

Mount topper onto base card with double-sided tape, embellish with pearls.

Happy Birthday Rachel

This card was for the birthday of one of my nieces, Rachel. I was doing some experimenting with Distress Inks, and it grew from there.

Take pale pink layering cardstock, use a scallop border punch and Pumice Stone Distress Ink on the lower edge, and affix to a white base card using double-sided tape.

The main topper was created by dabbing Shabby Shutters and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks onto a craft sheet, spritzing with a Perfect Pearls + water mix, and then smooshing watercolour paper into the ink. When almost dry, smoosh again, until the paper is covered.

When inked paper is completely dry, trim lower edge with Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch, and ink all edges. Stamp Hero Arts Border Messages stamp in Versafine Sepia.

Embellish with lace ribbon bunting, pink pearls and pink sparkly butterfly.

For a beloved Tante

This card is for a beloved tante (aunty) in Holland.

Base - white cardstock scored with a Scorpal.

Topper - Background is navy blue watercolour paper, dry emboss with the Cuttlebug, then swipe Silver Versamagic ink over raised areas and around edges.
Use Martha Stewart Flower Bed Deep Edge border punch on pale green metallic self-swirl paper. Dry emboss the sentiment with a Cuttlebug folder, then trace over the letters with a silver marking pen. Mount sentiment on pale green paper with foam tape, after rounding one corner of each piece.
To finish, tie a matching pale green ribbon around the topper, then tie a smaller knot-only piece in pale blue as shown. Punch a small butterfly. Embellish butterfly and sentiment with bling.

Out of my comfort zone!

This card was created for a friend's birthday!

I just bought some Marianne Craftables Dies, so wanted to try one out...

Base - white cardstock

Topper - Use Marianne Craftables Die Flower Basket (CR1209) twice, once with plain white card, and again with bright, flowery paper.
Colour the basket and handle with Copic E31.
Trim the flower section from the flowery paper and glue it onto the plain basket. Leave to dry.
Cut a plain white circle and a flowery paper scalloped circle using Nestabilities. Emboss the white circle with Swiss Dots embossing folder in Cuttlebug.
Cut a long rectangle from plain pink card, use Martha Stewart Doily Lace edge punch down one long side.
Cut a small rectangle from plain green card, emboss with Swiss Dots embossing folder in Cuttlebug.
Cut a small flower twice from matching paper. Layer with foam tape.
Stamp sentiment in VersaColour Orchid ink on white cardstock.
Assemble as shown, using foam tape under white circle.

Happy Birthday Master 5!

A birthday card for my nephew.

Base - white card stock

Topper - cream watercolour paper, stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia ink with a Tatty Teddy bear (free stamp from Docrafts magazine). Bear was coloured and grounded with Copic markers.
Balloon paper was made by dropping Ranger Distress Reinkers onto cardstock, then misting with Perfect Pearls mist (PP in water), then punched with balloon punch.
Three balloons mounted with double-sided tape, two balloons mounted with foam tape.
Sentiment from free set also.

One stamp two ways

This card was created as a thank you for my daughter's basketball coach.

Base - plain white cardstock
Topper - white watercolour paper stamped with free stamp from Cardmaking and Papercraft, (Issue 100, January 2012), then heat embossed with white embossing powder. Image sponged with Distress Inks, then parts of the image highlighted with Distress Inks painted on with aqua brush. Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, punched from purple paper, then covered with Stickles.

This card was created for a friend who is ill.

This time I stamped onto dark blue watercolour paper, and heat embossed with clear powder. I then coloured parts of the image with coloured pencils, dotted around the outside with Atyou Clear Spica pen. Sentiment handwritten with white gel pen.
